Lady Felicia E. West
Lady Felicia Elise West
was born the youngest of three children to Bro. Arthur & Evangelist
Phyllis Brown. She completed her education in the Prince George’s County
Public School System of Maryland and continued further in Business
Management at Strayer University.
At an early age, God began to
mold the life of this child to be a wife and mother of virtue and poise.
It is because of the foundational teaching that she received from her
grandmother, the late Missionary Dorothy Harper and her aunt, the late
Missionary Laura Myles that prepared Lady West to be a chase keeper of
the home. These God fearing women not only instructed her but more
importantly they led by example. With her destiny being strategically
planned by God, unknowingly to her, she was also being groomed to be a
Pastor’s wife by these two Saintly women of God. Reared in sound
biblical truth, Lady West demonstrated the heart and passion for
servitude as she served on the usher board, various choirs and other
auxiliaries.
A lover of music, Lady West has
always been involved in this area of ministry. Whether it was singing
lead with the choir or being part of the instrumental section she just
enjoyed having a part in the music ministry. Therefore, it wasn’t
strange when she inquired of Bro. Kevin West to teach her how to play
the organ. Needless to say that she never learned how to play the organ
and her response to that is, “I’ve got the man who knows how to play.”
They were joined in Holy Matrimony on May 18, 1996.
The Lord has always extended His
divine protection upon her many times throughout her life. One event in
particular that changed her life is when she escaped the fatal disaster
at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. She was approximately 25 feet
away from where the destruction occurred and God rescued her without a
scratch or burn. Since then she has been more grateful for her life and
more serious about her work in ministry.
“…For better for worse, in
sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, until death do us part…”
these words really took on a deeper realization when Lady West was put
to the test of having to fulfill them. In August 2007, devastation hit
the West family when her husband Elder Kevin West awoke one morning to
find that he could not move. Bound by this affliction, it handicapped
him for 8 months needing the assistance of his wife and children to aid
him in every endeavor. It was hurtful for her to see him in wheelchairs,
on crutches and a cane but through it all she remained faithful to the
cause of her family and to the work of the ministry. Through the prayers
of the Saints coupled with support of the family Pastor West has made a
complete recovery, To God Be ALL the Glory!
Lady West supports and shares in
ministry with her husband Pastor Kevin K. West and is the First Lady of
Redeemed House of Prayer Church of God. They are the proud parents of
two gifted and talented daughters: Erika and Kristina.
It is Lady West’s earnest prayer
and desire “That the Lord would help her to be a better person, a
better wife, a better mother and a better friend.”
